Matilda Wormwood is a remarkable little girl with a brilliant mind, a love of reading and a vivid imagination. Unfortunately, her parents don't quite appreciate what makes her special — and her terrifying headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, certainly doesn't make school any easier!

But Matilda soon discovers that she has a very special power of her own. With the help of her friends and her wonderful teacher, Miss Honey, she begins to stand up for what is right and show everyone that being different can be something to celebrate.
