Four lovers arguing amongst themselves; a crew of over-keen mechanicals trying, without much success, to produce a play fit for a king and one very mischievous sprite determined to cause havoc - this is the plot played out against a background of love, fairies, magic and, of course, a donkey! Transforming the theatre from industrial Piccadilly Gardens to the beautiful Manchester landscape of the early 1950s, this majestic play is fun and hilarious!
